A house beside an old mill, half sunk into the slope so the forest is still the first thing you see.
The brief came with one condition: not a single tree could be felled. The house sits in the only clearing on the plot and digs into the slope to the north, so from the lane all you see is a green roof and a stone wall.
Inside, everything turns around a corridor with a round window onto the forest. Day rooms open to the south with oak frames; bedrooms are half-buried, cool in summer and quiet all year.
