The stair is the biggest piece of furniture in the house

A stair is touched every day, by hand and by foot. So we give it the same care as a table: a handrail at hand height, treads that don't echo and a light that guides without dazzling.

A 28-centimetre tread

Our favourite proportion is a 17 cm riser and a 28 cm tread. It is comfortable going up and down, and leaves room to sit on the step with a coffee.

If a stair invites you to sit, it is a good one.
